My name is Walker Ryan and I'm from St. Helena, a small town in California's Napa Valley. I currently live on Martha’s Vineyard with my wife and son. I graduated from UC San Diego in 2012 with a Sociology degree. I was a professional skateboarder from 2011 to 2023 and spent the majority of my career traveling and working on various video and magazine projects. I still love to produce skate-related video projects, though I would no longer call myself a “pro.” I have written three skate-centric novels: Top of Mason (2020), Off Clark (2022) and High Street Lows (2025). I publish short stories and essays on Substack. And in collaboration with Dr. Kyle Brown, I produce physical therapy and fitness videos and podcasts geared toward treating the most common skateboarding-related injuries.
